This project for the new quarter of the Institutes for Life Sciences and Material Research of the University of Luxemburg can on one hand be read as a relaxed ensemble of freestanding buildings, on the other as an urbane texture in reference to scale, density and homogeneity of the traditional European city. The constituent element of this ensemble is an “L”-Type building with offices grouped around an atrium in its central section and laboratories to either side.

Between the buildings, which define the major public spaces already in the first phase of construction, are public passages, which widen in the inner part of the blocks or lead to public squares. These spaces offer a great permeability as well as a high quality of stay.
