Extention of St. Mary Hospital and construction of a new medical function building in two construction phases in the historic city center of Lübeck

The two new buildings are designed as related and yet independent houses. The division into two parts continues the character and density of the cathedral quarter, which is characterized by solitary buildings, and facilitates the realization in building phases. Regular bends in the building structure the building volumes. In this equally significant and sensitive location, the new houses fit into the context in their scale and materiality without denying their contemporaneity.
